Please check if you got a CONFIRMATION E-MAIL (in your spam as well). There you'll find a link to every necessary information regarding the session. You didn't get one? -> Your booking unfortunately was not successful! Maybe another person was faster than you. TRY AGAIN
  • Do I have to be completely undressed?
You should undress to the level you are comfortable. For a full body massage you unsually undress until underpants. I will work around the clothes you left on as best as I can. If removing clothes makes you unconfortable, there will be also the possibility to give you a fully clothed massage treatment. For that case and/or if you booked a Sports Massage, please bring comfortable, thin and flexible clothes with you. Not in all cases I need direct acces to the skin in order to give you relief or perform an passive exercise (stretching etc.).
  • What do I do during a massage treatment?
Make yourself comfortable. If I want you to adjust your position, I will either announce to move you or I will ask you to move what is needed. Otherwise, change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you. It is your massage, and whatever feels good to you is the best way to relax. Do not hesitate to ask questions or let me know about discomfort at any time.
  • How will the appointment proceed?
Your Session: Welcoming you and the overall process Talking about conditions and needs Talking/agreeing about the procedure and describing the different techniques of the massage Talking about individual boundaries and agreeing on potential limitations Clarifying of open questions Changing of clothes / undressing in privacy Beginning of the massage Let me know if you: * experience any pain or discomfort * need a change or to stop the massage * have other needs. Getting dressed in privacy Talking briefly about present condition
  • How many sessions will I need?
Honestly, its hard to say. Every person is unique and every condition is unique to each person. It may take one session or it may take several. We will be able to talk more specifically about this after your first session and when I had a chance to evaluate your body's tissues.
  • How will I feel after my massage treatment?
Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience a significant decrease or freedom from long-term aches, stiffness and pains. Many feel a little slowed down for a short period and then notice an increase of energy, heightened awareness and increased productivity which can last for days. If you received a Deep Tissue Massage or Sport Massage, you may be sore the next day - much like a good workout at the gym. After your session you should increase your water intake a bit. Just a glass or two more than normal is usually fine. This helps keep your body's tissues hydrated and healthy.
  • What shall I do if I'm running late?
You are running late for an appointment, it is best to write ahead to let me know that you are on your way. If you are more than 15 minutes late, you may need to reschedule.
  • How often should I get a massage?
"Some is better than none." What does that mean? Well, it varies from person to person. If you are just looking for some occasional relaxation, then a session every 3-6 weeks may be fine for you. However, if you are looking to address a specific condition, then it is recommended to go more frequently at first and then slowly taper down to a maintenance schedule. Sometimes more frequent 60-minute sessions can be effective until your goals are met and a maintenance schedule is in place. Frequency of sessions will be discussed after your treatment when I a better hands-on understanding of your particular issues.
  • Will the massage hurt?
This depends on the type of massage and the depth of the strokes. A light, relaxing Detress Massage that doesn't probe very deep into the muscles, shouldn't hurt. With that being said, there is a 'feels good' hurt and an 'ouch, stop it' hurt. A good massage, even a really Deep Tissue Massage or Sports Massage, should always stay in the 'feels good' hurt range. Pain can be an indication that the muscle is possibly injured or inflamed and pressure should be adjusted. Also, pain can cause you to tighten up and negate the relaxing effects of the massage. The most effective and deepest massage always works with your body's response, not against it.
  • What services does the Massage Studio offer?
I offer massages to all 18+ ages and of all body types. My offered massages are: Sports Massage Deep-Tissue Massage Destress Massage Foot Reflexology Massage Cupping These massages are performed on a massage table. For people with physical limitations I offer mobile massages (special request required, please use the contact form).
  • When should I NOT get a massage?
In my opinion there are few conditions which would prevent you from enjoying or benefit from a massage. You should not book a massage if you have a fever, cold/flu, or contagious skin infection. That's it. There are many other conditions in which we may need to adapt techniques (i.e. arthritis or osteoporosis) or avoid an area completely (i.e. cuts, burns or tattoos). With some conditions it is a good idea to get an approval from your physician before you receive massage (cancer, certain heart conditions, pregnancy). This doesn't mean you can't get massage. But its always better to err on the side of caution. Contact me, if you are not sure or about your specific needs.
  • Do you offer massage for people with physical limitations aswell?
Yes, I also offer mobile massages for people with physical limitations. A one-hour massage in this case costs 60,00 Euro. Within Berlin (Ring) I do not charge fee for the ride to the customer. Please note, that the mobile massage is not performed on a massage table, but on your upholstery bed or on your mattress. Therefore I recommend to contact me before booking a massage to discuss and clarify all existing conditions on the spot. If all conditions are met, I'm happy to arrange an appointment.
